Aspect ratio

What is the aspect ratio of the DVD? According to Amazon it seems to be full-screen (1.33/1), rather like the VHS release (both from Facets Video), which is only very slightly letterboxed. This is a shame, as this is a very wide movie (2.35/1), and some of the gags are ruined by being cut off by by the pan-and-scan frame line.

Anybody see the DVD?

The real aspect ratio on DVD (Czech release 2002) is 2.45:1 (2.35:1 is written on cover) and it is anamorphic!!!!!
Sound is monophonic Dolby 2.0

Yes, the full screen DVD from Facets Video is missing so much from the sides of the image that a lot of the action is hard to follow. The clips I have seen in letterbox look great, but I don't know what source they use. Is there a letterboxed DVD from another company?

Would anyone like to see Mr. Simpson harvest a soul?

Filmexport sells Limonadovy Joe in the correct aspect ratio (2.35:1). There is a version of the DVD with English subtitles, and a version with only Czech.

If you can only find the Czech version of the DVD, the subtitle text file can be obtained from...places...and loaded into DVD playing software that supports that sort of thing, such as Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

I'll do business with a Red, but I don't have to believe one.
