Here we go again....The Re-Make

Apparently, in an article I just read, Lindsey Lohan wants to star in a re-make of this. Whadddya think?

reply

No biggie.

Probably it'd be just another forgettable & needless 'because nobody demanded it' remake that'll pass by without making much of a ripple, BUT it could likely trigger a welcome dvd release of the original...

Great classics should NOT be re-made, but flawed or forgotten classics SHOULD. This is one of them. Lindsay Lohan would be great if she'd just EAT! As the senator, a great straight-arrow actor would be Jeff Daniels (who needs to eat a little less these days).

reply

what happens if a wonderful film gets remade into crap? People will gush over the original, and like another poster said, they will release it on bluray. It's good for fans, so nobody should worry about it. It's fun to watch remakes anyways for the sake of comparing films.

reply

“Could” (conditional) and “likely” (probable) do not belong together.

reply

Can't stand La Lohan. She's a celebrity not an actress nor a signer. She makes me cringe.

reply

supposedly lindsay and her people got the rights for a remake

reply

Lindsay Lohan trying to fill the shoes of Ann Margaret in Kitten With A Whip? The vanity and arrogance of todays Hollywood 'biatches' never ceases to amaze. Not to mention the character in that film was supposed to be a teen, and Lohan doesn't exactly look like a teen these days. (Hint: Coke is not a beauty product)

reply

I'd like to see people go to Hollywood to protest all these *beep* remakes but really I don't care. The one upside of remakes is it always tends to coincide with the DVD-reissue of the original movie or tv show the remake was based on.

reply

Ok first off, what article did you read this in? This sounds like some made up internet rumor garbage. Second, WHY would anyone want to remake this? This kind of movie will never play with todays audience.

one thing about Lohan if she want it she'll get it
Even more if no one else wants it...

Seriously, who needs a remake of (a)THIS, (b)WITH HER, (c)NOW?

reply

This is a movie, not a venereal disease, so Lohan's got no chance of getting it. Her career's so far down the rat hole that it takes sunlight 8 billion years to get there.

Hmmm Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones....Kitten with a whip. Yeah that belongs in the same sentence. I guess YOU have your pulse on what NO ONE wants.

reply

Rocky, Rambo & Indiana Jones were sequels, not remakes. Further, they only did so-so box office with stars whose names are in pretty good condition, so to speak. But you're talking about a remake of a movie that would no longer be found as shocking as the original at the time it was released, with a hack actress with no credibility, no acting talent, and a lot of bad publicity she drags around with her. It would be doomed from the start on so many levels, so as to make it completely impossible.

reply

I'd say let Lohan remake this pile of crap. She does need to pay for her drug habits after all..

reply

I don't necessarily have a problem with Lindsay as an actress. What I do have a problem with is her trying to embody roles &/or actresses that she is incapable of adding to. The point of a re-make is to be able to better a previously made film. I wouldn't even have to see the film re-make to know Lindsay would leave a deficit.

reply

no, the point of a remake is to make money. If they can make money with her starring in a remake of this, than it is a success.

The point of fans wanting a remake is to see the film in a modern twist or with better special effects, which preferably makes it better. But that is a lot to ask for considering many remakes are done just decently enough to bring in big bucks from the idiots/teenagers that don't even know it's a remake.

But to move on from the point of remakes, If Lohan loves this movie than she probably always dreamed of being in a remake of it and would work somewhat hard on doing a good job, so it's better than Megan Fox being cast in it, right? Just looking at the pros of it.

reply

“Than,” “then”? Aw, who cares?

I do. I care a lot. Language matters.

reply

...& we all thought the original was campy...

reply

Well, it couldn't be any worse than the original. Right?

reply

Well in the original the girl's 17 years old. Lohan is almost 30 and looks well into her 40s.
