Does anybody know what kind of car Valdez is driving? Some kind of Prototype?

Found the answer on "Classic Movie HUb": The car that Valdez picks up before the wild ride with McCloud is a Jaguar D-Type, a popular race car and LeMans contender in the 1950s but obsolete by the time of the film's release in 1964.
