The Bates Motel is In This Movie

Late in this 1964 movie, John Cassavetes and Angie Dickinson go to a motel in the woods.

It's the Bates Motel, the actual exterior set used in Hitchcock's 1960 movie.

It's dressed up differently -- and yellow because, unlike in "Psycho," this movie is in color. And where the office was in "Psycho," they've disguised to look like just another motel room.

But that's it. It was used a year later in an episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Hour," and soon thereafter, torn down.

A duplicate was built for "Psycho III," (1986) and re-dressed for the 1998 remake of "Psycho."

This Hitchcock and Hemingway (not that this movie has much to do with Hemingway) fan says thank you for the info.
