Great little thriller

Last saw it back in 2000. Lee Marvin ruled the screen as brutal hitman Charlie and the plot was quite decent, too. One gripping scene is when Charlie and Lee threaten Angie Dickinson and nearly throw her out of the top of the building.

Don Siegel was the best!!!!

I agree that this is a very good movie. It is not as good (in my opinion) as the 1946 version but it is still a good movie. It is worth seeing both versions when you can. They are both shown on television ocassionally so keep a watch on your tv guide.
I also recommend that you either buy or go to the library and read the short version story by Ernest Hemmingway.

Absolutely loved the chemistry between Lee Marvin and Clu Gulager as the killers. Their inspired pairing really made this film hum.
