I wish I was a fish ? To be caught and eaten by humans or devoured by a predator . Not to mention a much shorter life than a human.
The only characteristics of a fish I'd want is being able to breathe underwater and be able to withstand the cold temps and water pressure of diving deep into the ocean. Would be cool to see the Titanic from a fishes point of view .
"So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey"
if you could get away with a life that consisted of only:
- swimming all the time - eating seafood all the time - hanging with a school of friends all the time - "spawning" all the time - sleeping all the time - floating in the warm sun all the time
'Cause fishes have a better life than people. They don't have all the care and strife of people, A fish can swim, That's all they ask of him.
A fish is free To roam around the sea, And look for love wherever he can find it. He flirts with every lady fish As she goes swimming by, And if she gives her tail a swish and winks a fishy eye, A minnow all at once can be a whale of a guy. I wish, I wish I were a fish.
When I was a child, this was one of my favorite films and I, too, wanted to be a fish. I ignored the scary parts, of course, and dreamed about hours swimming underwater and looking at all the lovely plants, shells, and rocks. I thought about how the sun pieces the water with columns of light and heat where particles danced up and down. It seemed so ideal.
I, too, dreamt of being a fish, for some reason. Loved the water, loved the ocean. Even having three goldfish named Snip, Snap and Snurr as a child, made me happy and sad at the same time; happy just b/c they were fish and they were mine, and sad, b/c they were stuck in that bowl. I always wanted a large aquarium filled with lovely fish (ala Mr. Limpet), but both husbands gave that idea a thumbs-down. So....TIML is and has always been in my Top 5, and I've sung "I Wish I Were A Fish" to my children and grandchildren since their births. Thanks, Don Knotts, for a wonderful performance and a wonderful motion picture!
