It doesn't deserve a DVD release!

I rarely comment on films I don't like but this was such a disappointment I thought I might save someone else the pain of sitting through it. Sadly, the talent of the outstanding cast is wasted on this pathetic excuse for a comedy.

There was a glimmer of humor in some of the scenes between Chevalier & Hermione Gingold but it was never really developed. Sandra Dee does try hard to rise above the absurd material but doesn't quite succeed. The result is a boring, slow-moving 96 minutes.

Although I realize it was not meant to be a musical, why have a superb singer like Robert Goulet in a film and not have him sing at least one song? (Andy Williams does sing but very briefly.)

It Started With Eve, the 1941 film on which this is based, would be a far better choice and has some songs by Deanna Durbin.

I don't think I want to go to the pictures. Oh?Why not? I've seen everything worth seeing.
