Great adventure film

I really think this is a fantastic adventure comedy, and so much more inventive and surprising than most in that genre; Indiana Jones would not exist without this film. It's ridiculous that it's so hard to see or find on DVD outside France.

This really is a great advenure film. I would like to have a DVD or video of the English language version. I don't know if they ever existed, but if so I'd like to get one.

I saw this in 1965 in Hungary for the first time. We did not have James Bond movies behind the Iron Curtain back then, but this was the film that made me want to leave the East Block and see the rest of the world.

The editing in this movie is fantastic, as are the frame compositions. Just purrfect. Adolfo Celi, playing a Brasilian bad guy, went right from this shoot to the James Bond flick "Thunderball."

The innocence, sexual liberation, and joy of life of the swinging 60s permeates this movie throughout. These days, we are living in a much darker, denser world.

Also, JP Belmondo is much sexier in this film than any James Bond before or since. To me, anyway.

Sir Winston : Which color ?
Adrien : Pink with green stars !
... Cut to Adrien and Agnès in a pink sports car with some green stars on it.

Great cinematic moment...
