Memorable quotes Guns at Batasi

Dear Sir,
The quote on the IMDB website in respect of the above movie for RSM Lauderdale is INCORRECT.

The quote shown starts with "I've seen Calcutta and ends with "my WILL is with my solicitors Short and Curly"

IT SHOULD END WITH:-

'My WILLY is with my solicitors Short and Curly"
Willy is a 1940's/50's English expression meaning penis. (still in use today) Short and Curly refers to pubic hair.
The statement by RSM Lauderdale can be translated to say:-

" I have seen and done it all and everthing about me is normal and in its place so watch out, I cant be fooled by silly tricks" (like removing her Majesty's picture from the wall, which is what his fellow officers had done just prior to him entering the room to see if he would notice.)

Please make the change.
Kind regard,
Frank Smith

Frank Smith is WRONG! I own the DVD, I speak English, I hear in English, and I read lips in English because my Mother was deaf, and the word said by RSM Lauderdale is WILL. In your hat. Warmest regards, Tom Collins

reply

Quite correct au561, the word is WILL. To say willy would detract entirely from the hyperbolic thrust of delivery that the RSM is giving.
I also doubt that there are many willy's gathering dust in any solicitor's offices worldwide.

Ah!...Now we see the violence inherent in the system!

I liked this quote by Lauderdale regarding the General who believed in discipline who must now be happy that church parades have been abolished:

"Oh, he's dead. Got blown off the seawall at Ramsgate during a gale. Broke his neck, very sad."

Ah! Now we see the violence endemic in the system!

reply

Sgt Dogder Brown to Schoolie Prideaux:
"You shovel and I'll grunt."

RSM Lauderdale, of the lady MP:
"I must admit, the old bag's got guts. I only hope she doesn't end up Prime Minister some day."

reply

Lauderdale to the lady MOP:

"They had guns and we didn't. That isn't very equal, is it?"
