DONALD PLEASANCE

Pleasance is just superb in this film, he really inhabits the character and gives him plenty of tics to keep you interested. My favourite scene is where he walks along the street arguing with himself and banging his fist into his hand. A woman passerby gives him a worried look - the camera is some way off so it may be a genuine member of the public reacting to a crazy tramp. I think I read or saw something that said Pleasance stayed in character and costume during filming. Quite believable as he really inhabits the role.
