-Barbara Shelley,'nuff said

-Terence Fisher:director

-even the Columbia logo is suffused w\the elegant music !

-the Gorgon herself in that decrepit Castle

Oh yes, the music. The music and the ambiance. And the castle. These three factors are the playground for the wonderful actors. I love The Gorgon!

It might not be my favourite Hammer film, but it is certainly one of the most eerie...it has a real menacing atmosphere to it at times, created by all of the above!

And it's interesting and refreshing that the antagonist is not just another vampire or werewolf.

There's much to like in The Gorgon. Terrific cast, nice ambiance; a well above Hammer horror. A classy film all-round.
