Cute Movie

I saw this movie on television for the first time when I was a kid. I thought it was really funny. Debbie Reynolds was amusing acting like a man and Tony Curtis was hilarious as George. Walter Matthau was also very funny. I would definitely classify this movie as one of my "guilty pleasures."

I actually liked it too. I happened to catch most of it on A.M.C. this morning. Every now and then, they air it.

I think this film is of note for the appearance of the great Ellen Burstyn, then acting under the name Ellen McCrae. She plays Franny, one of Reynolds' conquests before becoming a woman.

"This movie is good enough to have been based on a novel."

I loved this movie, and found it to be one of my guilty pleasures films along with "some like it hot". I was very little when I first saw this film, and I had a crush on Tony Curtis .

I also think it funny that while Tony Curtis's character in the film wound up dating his friend Charlie who was a guy who used to be a women ,in real life (an much later in life) Tony Curtis himself would wound up dating a trans gender who "He Thought" was a women.

This is a piece of fluff, but what an enjoyable little flick it is! Debbie Reynolds is excellent, and it's great to see Ellen Bursyn, aka McRae, in an early role. 7/10 stars from me.

I stumbled across this film quite by accident having never heard of it before and think it's great- nothing to feel guilty about at all. I love how Debbie Reynolds plays it as masculine as possible, whilst still being gorgeous and keeping up great chemistry with Curtis and I also loved genuinely not knowing how it would all pan out. All in all, vastly superior to 90% of modern RomComs (although I could totally see Sandra Bullock in the Reynolds role).
