Hello!
Has Anybody An Idea What The Original Aspec Ratio Is?

I had a bit of the film on videotape (from a TBS Broadcast) some years ago. The end credits were in scope 2:35.

thx for the information! my german ptv record is also fullscreen :(

The recent TCM showing I saved seems to indicate the film is open matte in my opinion.

It was shown fullscreen (which is rare for TCM but I am sure that Columbia has not done a new transfer of this movie in quite some time) but I noticed no significant cropping or tell tale pan or scanning in the picture and the credits were neither letterboxed or squeezed.

tcm aired it in 1:85 today. so if you have the vhs just put black bars at the top and bottom.
