shareI totally agree - this one is a real gem!

shareSometimes it depends on who owns the rights to the movie. That's generally the case.

have it was released on jack lemmon collection
shareIt's a hilarious film, a total joy from start to finish, and one of Jack Lemmon's best comedies apart from the one with Walter Matthau. 9/10 stars from me.
shareI AGREE 1 of his best and my favorite Lemmon film,,in my top 5 GNS is number 1 for me then some like it hot,,mister roberts, save the tiger, the apartment..of course he did others i loved my fave 5
shareThose are all great films, and I could watch them every month (and probably should). I absolute love the comedies with Matthau also, plus, on the darker side, "The Days of Wine and Roses," "Short Cuts" and "Glengarry Glen Ross," which are devastating.
shareI'm watching it now (first viewing). It's very good so far. I do love Jack Lemmon in Under the Yum-Yum Tree, as well as some of the more modern films he did with Matthau.

It is a great film. I love Jack's '60s comedies, which combined his traditional comic talents with some bizarro antics. "Under the Yum Yum Tree" is excellent as well, as is the unfairly maligned "Luv" with Elaine May and Peter Falk.
shareOkay, I'll give Luv a chance if I can find it. Any other 1960s Jack Lemmon comedies which you recommend? I admit that I haven't seen too many of them. BTW, I didn't think that The Odd Couple was all that amusing.

Hello, MrsElleryQueen1976: You didn't like "The Odd Couple"? Like a lot of people, I saw it long after watching the TV series, but I loved both.
A few other '60s Jack Lemmon comedies I'd recommend:
"The Fortune Cookie"
"The Great Race"
"How to Murder Your Wife" (<--- despite the title, it's quite funny, and no one gets killed)
"Under the Yum Yum Tree"
"Irma la Douce"
"The Wackiest Ship in the Army" (<--- not as good as I expected, but worth seeking out)
"The Apartment" (<--- one of my favorite Jack Lemmon films)
I recently bought "The April Fools," but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
I have seen The Apartment. I liked it, but didn't absolutely love it.
I really like Under the Yum-Yum Tree.
I watched about an hour of How to Murder Your Wife and I finally had enough. I'm afraid that this film did nothing for me. It does sound like the sort of film which would appeal to me...
I haven't seen the others, and I'll keep them in mind. Thanks!

Sure thing. I think you've seen enough of a cross-section of Jack Lemmon films to guide you in future viewings. I'm a die-hard fan of his, so I guess I'm biased.
shareI've always liked him, but I admit that, for years, I only knew him from films of the nineties, such as Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men. He and Walter Matthau made a perfect team.
I think that Jack Lemmon should have been cast as the friend in the movie A Guide For the Married Man. He would have been a better choice for Matthau's friend than the guy who got the part. When I watched that film, I kept wishing that Lemmon was that scheming sidekick....

I'm watching it now and enjoying it. Not sure why this film isn't better known.
