Why did Goldfinger have to kill all of the top gangsters with an atomic bomb?

I suppose we can accept that Goldfinger constructed an entire building to create an elaborate audio-visual sales pitch for his plot to blow up an atomic bomb in Fort Knox to show to all the top gangsters in the country because he wanted to impress them. But like I said, why did he kill them? Don't all of the remaining gangsters know where he lives?

And even if you can think of a reason why taking on rubbing out the entire leadership of the mafia nationwide hours before committing the moon landing of crime is a good idea, why crush Mr. Solo inside his car with a million dollars of gold in the trunk? Wouldn't it have been better for him to kill him on the driveway? And then, he could take the gold out of the trunk before crushing the car.

Because it looked cool. In the novel, the various gangs all had roles in the heist

He wanted to give his spiel to someone, and the gangsters were a captive audience.

I see what you did there

reply

What did I do there. I'm not sure myself?

reply

? He held the gangsters captive for his presentation.

reply

OK. I wasn't sure, I thought I had accidentally said something incredibly witty and brilliant. False alarm. LOL.

He killed them because they were there to get their money, and Goldfinger did not intend to pay. Of course, Goldfinger was not worried about retribution from other gangsters. He was about to murder thousands of US soldiers and detonate an atomic bomb in Fort Knox. He intended to disappear and enjoy his wealth where the US and all other civilized nations could not find him, much less a bunch of mobsters.

He gave them the speech even though he intends to kill them right afterwards because, as a megalomaniac, he enjoys explaining his plans and being the center of attention. If you can't accept that, the Bond franchise is not for you.

Same thing with the way Mr. Solo was killed. Yes, he could have killed him in a much easier way, but Bond villains like doing things in style, rather than the efficient, easy way.
