R.I.P Tilly. Cause of death: Hit by a hat.

I didn't even realise that Oddjob's hat killed her until I noticed that she wasn't in the rest of the movie. Such a cheap death.

reply

She dies much later in the book. In the book she is in love with Pussy.

reply

Aren't we all?

reply

*Hit in the neck by a razor-brimmed hat.

They're not gonna show her get decapitated like the statue.

reply

Was it the razor that killed them? As a youth I assumed it was just metal that broke their necks, as there was never (was there?) any blood apparent.

reply

No, there was no blood, but that is due to it being a PG film from 1964.

reply

There was no blood because there were no decapitations (apart from the golf club's statue). Tilly's head is not severed from her body because she died from the hurled, metal-weighted brim of Oddjob's hat breaking her neck.

Most great films deserve a more appreciative audience than they get.

reply

Or as they might say in New Yawk, "She had a hat attack!"

My people skills are fine. It's my tolerance of morons that needs work.

reply

The statue's head fell off due to shock of the impact cracking the rock, not because it was severed with a sharp edge.

reply

But the crack was already there, it didn't appear when the hat hit it.

reply

No CGI back then... but that's what happened

reply

"Hottie killed by hattie!"

aren't we all indeed. man, was the sister chilly or what, after all she didn't know bond had screwed up her driving, good thing she didn't end up to be the movie's main bond girl. i'm surprised no one mentions when oddjob dropped the golf ball out of his pants, reminded me of a similar scene with stewie in "family guy", funny how a mute guy calls the shots over the men not only in this but also in "the spy who loved me" (jaws). i think bond got use of about all of q's gadgets, when another car crashes down a hill towards a brick wall was quite the well shot scene, wasn't it. notice in these old movies how they take their time and let you take things in, today they blast so much action and so fast paced you can't even see what's going on, well it's not always easy to see here either since galore's boobies takes up much of the camera shot, here's something you might wanna know, the british 1960s crime series "the avengers" starred two bond girls each in separate seasons, honor blackman (galore) and diana rigg (theresa bond).
