I wonder why Tab Hunter's voice was dubbed by another actor in the English version?

Cuz he sounded like a douche

Not only is Tab Hunter's voice dubbed, so are the horses. When a herd of galloping horsemen cross the sands there is so much loud clip clopping it is amazing. I can imagine the sound of horse hooves on a city street, but on sand? I don't think so.
