... conscious or unconscious -- for Stephen King's short story, "The Raft" (adapted for the screen in _Creepshow II_, I think it was, circa late 1980s sometime).

I had never seen or even heard of this movie before tonight. Until now I had always assumed that the King story "The Raft" was mainly inspired by the original late Fifties (Steve McQueen) version of _The Blob_. Now I see different.
