What`s the point of watching this on AMC?

It`s cut up of course. After downloading an uncut copy I viewed 2 scenes that I had never seen before even decades ago when I first saw it on WNEW Channel 5 out of NYC.

That's where I saw it for the first time, as well. It was either the late 70s or early 80s.

I just watched this again recently and it really is a gory movie for its time. There is no way AMC — or WNEW back in the day — could have televised this movie uncut. One really disgusting sequence is when the doctor digs into the hero's shin with a knife to remove some of the flesh eaters.

Good question, I wish it was on TMC, or that AMC would get the balls to show uncut movies in late night - why don't they? It's a cable channel, and TMC doesn't cut anything shown at anytime - I've seen plenty of nudity and violence over there.
