Original soundtrack on CD

Soon after the DVD went out of print, the original motion picture soundtrack of Fate is the Hunter has become available on CD.

It's the second of two scores by composer Jerry Goldsmith on the disc, the main one being the soundtrack from Shock Treatment. The CD is available from SAE (screenarchives.com) and costs $19.95.

The music from FITH is actually quite brief, just under 10 minutes on 7 tracks, as there was very little music actually heard in the film. The CD also contains three bonus tracks totaling less than 5 minutes, one of background music in the bar scene, plus two tracks of the title song, which is not heard in the movie -- one a vocal, the other sung by a chorus. (Truth be told, the lyrics aren't all that good.)

The DVD from Twilight Time had an isolated music track, but given how little music there is in the film the CD is the better way to hear the score...especially now that the DVD is no longer available.
