Of all the things to cut from the film... (Spoilers)

When I first saw this movie, I disliked it. Hercules Steven Seagal'd his way through the film without taking any offense from any of his opponents. Then I caught the extended wrestling scene on YouTube. The English version of the film cuts out the fight against the first three wrestlers -- the only time in the entire movie that anyone physically hurts the hero.

Why? Did they just feel like Hercules should be an invincible Superman who goes through the entire movie unscathed? After seeing what was cut out, I had a greater appreciation for the film. The villains are really fun, especially the sexy sister Taneal, and the story itself is pretty well handled.

I just can't believe that they could cut out the one part in the film where someone provides Hercules with actual competition.
