Glamour pusses in the dusty West

This isn't a bad western, though Troy Donahue is a bit too pretty for the macho comment he gets from the laundry woman when he first arrives in the fort. Even prettier are the two girls, with the fiancee looking far too doll-like and fashionably dressed to have made the journey out west. And Suzanne Pleshette looks a bit too smart for a frontier officer's wife when she leaves the fort after the death of her husband.

The overstated glamour apart, it's not a bad western, and, as some one else has already said, the troops look dusty and travel-worn.

The plot really required major heat between Troy and Suzanne.

But Troy fails to give it. Acts more interested in looking in the mirror.

He was a closest gay so no wonder.

Somebody else with more red blood should have played the part of the leading man.

Suzanne was a hot kitty.

Troy was never gay. He is continually mistaken for Tab Hunter who was gay.
Donahue lived with his long-term partner, a chinese female opera singer, until his death at 65.

Agreed. The "romance" between the pair and the intervention of the Laura character was just too understated and therefore lacked any dramatic and romantic tension. Even at the end there is no real closure. Kitty walks out of the federal building without saying a word to Hazard, he begins to follow, then doesn't and then it cuts back to Fort Delivery where we find out Hazard and Kitty were married. Wow! Talk about by the numbers.🐭

No evidence or even innuendo to support your case that Troy was gay.
And since it is now 8 years since your misinformed comment, one may ask "so what"?
Are you confusing him with Tab Hunter?
Any gay man who would put himself through 4 marriages must be a glutton for punishment and in dire need of psychological help!!!!

I think that Suzanne Pleshette looks really gorgeous in this one. I can never understand why she never got better parts in movies.
