Haliday cracks me up when he's talking to the soon to strip girl. He's like "OH Really" Anyway is there anyone who liked the striptease dance? I found it so disturbing I liked it with the men in the audience drooling over her. Pure silliness

Your post reminded me of a similar scene with Mae West, where she is strutting down the stage and notices a man in the audience virtually drooling over her. She rolls her eyes in that Mae West way and says, "Ohhhh, penny for your thoughts!"
Hi. Well being a guy, I found this scene pretty damn hot.
The character is presented as an uptight sort of Librarian type. But c'mon, she strips down to these sexy stockings and garter belt that looked like they
came from Fredricks of Hollywood.
In real life (as if this sort of thing would happen in real life -- well, hey, maybe on Bourbon Street?), this would scream "plant!".
But this appeals to that part of every guy that loves the idea that inside of every prim and proper maiden is an exhibitionistic slut struggling to get out.
Pretty startling for 1964, I must say.

shareThe DVD includes some extras which are scenes from the English version and in that, she strips off until she's partially nude! So that's why the guys in the audience are so fascinated!

shareUm, no that's just what women's undergarments used to look like. Elastic wasn't really used that much yet, so socks required garterbelts, some women wore corsets, and you should see what a girl needed at that time of the month! It involves a belt, hooks, and massive amounts of cotton.
