The Cemetery at the Beginning?
I love old cemeteries.
I noticed sign that said "Roseland", but I searched and could find no "Roseland" Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.

It is now called Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery, located at W. Washington Blvd.,
and S. Normandie Blvd., in Los Angeles.
It was the first cemetery opened to burying whites and blacks.
The famous Hattie McDaniel of "Gone With The Wind", first African-American
actress to win an Oscar; is buried there.
Her request was to be buried in Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, but was
denied as it was against the law at that time to bury whites and blacks
in the same cemetery.
Many years have passed since her death and interment in Angelus-Rosedale;
but a small monument was erected in her honor and memory in the Hollywood
Memorial Park Cemetery.

Worse yet, in the West, the Frontier-Pioneers Days, Native Americans had their own burial area as did Jewish & Black people, however in the white cemeteries, criminals/murderers could be buried in the designated area known as Boot Hill
My grandson attends Loyola High School which is directly across the street from that cemetery.
