Other great 'gothic horror' movies?

Just finished watching this film, and I must say - it's brilliant!
I never was a fan of this kind of movies about haunted castles (they somehow seemed too cliched for me), so didn't see many of them. I've seen some of Mario Bava's films though and liked them too, "Black Sunday" and "La frusta e il corpo" particularly.
So, what other gothic horror films should I watch?

I think you'd like "Mill of the Stone Women."

I just watched the 1964 Hammer film "Nightmare." The black and white photography and lighting is amazing!

Mario Bava´s "Lisa and the Devil" - his masterpiece IMO, that elevates the basic elements of Italian Gothic horror to an arthouse level. Think "Castle of Blood" as directed by Alejandro Jorodowsky

The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress

Plus, I NEVER miss an Elke Sommer flick.

Check out HORRIBLE DR. HICHCOCK and it's semi-sequel, THE GHOST. Both are great, beautifully shot films but I prefer THE GHOST.

There are several great Hammer productions as well as flicks like 'Long Hair Of Death' and Dario Argento's 'Opera' which blends modern slasher-flick with old-fashion, gothic chiller elements (and does so very well)

Several movies very similar to this one (and also starring Barbara Steele) are Nightmare Castle, Terror Creatures From The Grave, The Long Hair of Death, and An Angel For Satan. You can't go wrong with any of those.

I also like The Blancheville Monster and Murder Clinic a good bit. And all of Corman's Poe films are also good bets.
