Pretty damn good!

i have become a sort of barbera steele fan, i believe i came across the trailer for this on youtube and that other blonde babe was gorgeus too so i have to rent this. wow, this was pretty excellent! i did find it a bit odd with that lesbian stuff, even though it was really downplayed i was pretty shocked because of the time it was made. i didnt really get the point of it, but i guess its another one of those free-wheeling italian films lol. this was pretty excellent and eerie, the film looks older then it is, i guess because it was a different camera or something but it looked like a 30's movie.

still, very creepy and interesting, different story, and reminds me of why i prefer watching older movies to any of todays junk. these were very well made, and the acting was actually very good.

*SPOILERS*

even though the guy didnt make it (close but no cigar!), on the plus side, he got to be with elizabeth forever. he said when he came he was very lonely and then he met her and it was love at first sight. even though i wish he got out, im glad they ended it so that they were together. i love romantic endings :)

I agree this is a very good movie. I 1st saw it yrs ago when it was on TV late at night and didn't know what the name was at first (I missed the opening). It does a great job of creating a spooky atmosphere and having Edgar Allan Poe appear at the start and end of the movie just adds that little extra zing to the storyline.
It's a shame they don't make more horror movies like this one and others made back in the day instead of going for the buckets of blood and shocking makeups all the time. What makes a great horror movie isn't what you can see or hear but what you think you see and hear (via suggestion).

Yes, I thought this was a pretty good movie as well. It does a really good job at setting the mood with all those candles and shots of the dark, spooky house. And it maintains that mood for the rest of the movie. It is very fun.
