Shades of 'Darkman'?

Anyone else get a flash of "Darkman" when the killer is laughing while riding the horse...with his extra baggage in tow? I know the costuming is classic and has been used a lot, but that one scene just made me wonder if Raimi hadn't seen this movie as a kid and stored that image away in his subconcious somewhere.

I thought this was a real little gem of an independent movie.
