One thing that is interesting to me about this film was the Karl Malden character. This captain, who was so intent on following orders without questions was a German born American officer. I think that Ford remembered the Nazi tyranny well.

Typical of Jewish Hollywood to blame everything bad on the German people.of course the Americans never committed any crimes against humanity.too bad Ford didnt remember his oun nation's tyranny against the American Indian.
