Getting somewhere..? (DVD release)

Well...amazon has this title as a possible future release on DVD.
I don't want to keep my hopes to high but..it's a good sign.
Let's hope they do justice to the film from a good source.

Keeping my fingers crossed, too!

The best reason I have for keeping my video-player is my VHS copy "The Chalk Garden", surely the most enjoyable, beautiful film I have seen in my 40 years.

I agree with you, Moonspinner55. I originally saw this movie when I was about 14, and it made a lasting impression on me. That was actually the first Deborah Kerr movie I saw, and I became a life-long fan as a result of her performance. I found the movie to be haunting, and everyone who was in that film gave a memorable performance.

I agree with you. I've got to see "The Whisperers" now with Edith Evans, and anything I can get my hands on with Deborah Kerr. A singer named Kelli Greene recorded a vocal to the main theme and it was released as a 45 single, you might like it if you can track a copy down. It's on the Fox record label and it's called "Madrigal".

Thanks for the info on the 45 single, Moonspinner55. I'll see if I can find it. I think Andy Williams also recorded "Madrigal" years ago, too. I also wished that the soundtrack had been released. The music is simply haunting, especially at the very beginning.

reply

you are correct about Andy Williams, he recorded it as well! I own both and forgot about poor Andy! The music WAS beautiful, just like everything else in this never-never-land of a movie.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this song? I just want an mp3 of the song. When I tried to purchase it on amazon.uk, it said it wouldn't let me because I don't live in the UK. *pouts*
