I couldn't take my eyes off the clothes. A lot of clothes that were the height of fashion at their time don't go down as well over the years, but those costumes were so well designed by Julie Harris that they're classics.

those costumes were so well designed by Julie Harris that they're classics.....and those crisp shirts & ties that Sir John Mills wore --- was really tough at times to determine if he was really the butler, or actually the lord of the manor !!
I don't think it's shallow to check out the clothes, especially when the film is over 25 years and then some. i think it's fun. Sometimes you notice that fashion trends come back.
I also like to check out the interior designs of the rooms. Draperies and furniture interest me.
