This Is Wild

Peter Sellers' Ultimate Me character is a blueprint for Trumpski, as is the cultishness of his followers.

That, in 1964, the voice of reason at the end of the film is a passionate intelligent black man with heart and values is quite remarkable for its time, as is the fact that the "survivors" are quite the mix of white and black.

Thank you, TCM for running this.

"Victor, what are we going to do to stop this fiendish tit?"

reply

Indeed. Mr Serling's allegory really has come disturbingly true.

reply

Yes. I've gone from being sad to being frightened to being mad as hell and I'm not going to take his *beep* of that of his willfully ignorant followers anymore.

You have to see this then: http://cnn.it/2gQo3OB

I absolutely died with laughter when the CNN interviewer involuntarily slapped the side of her own head (the universal symbol for "I can't believe this is actually happening.")

At least Peter Sellers was charming.

Oh, yes. Unbelievable. Sad. People do not get news anymore. They get propaganda that will substantiate their beliefs. The sad thing is that Trumpski gets his info and opinions the same way. A big gaping *beep*

We are in the bread and circuses era of our republic.

"Victor, what are we going to do to stop this fiendish tit?"

1964- "Everyone with their own barricade. Everyone with their own wall."

2016- Build the wall! Build the wall!

reply

Typical bleeding heart hyperbole.
