Why was the Lawyer's voice dubbed?

I can't find a reason or even mention of it anywhere. Well, other than the cast listing, showing one actor for the Lawyer, and one for his voice. Watching the movie, I knew right away it was dubbed. But why do such a thing? It was an American actor playing the Lawyer. Did he have laryngitis that day?

Can't answer your question, but I noticed it also. It appears that his female friend/roommate, Hazel Jenks; sounds liker her voice was dubbed also.
