..what is being shouted during the dance sequence and who it is that is shouting it?
To me it sounded like "clapping" shouted by Franz, but does anybody else know for sure?

It's actually Arthur who is shouting, but I can't find any word in French that sounds like what he is saying given the context.

Well, on the Criterion dvd, at least, when something's not subtitled, it's usually because it's in English. So maybe it is "clapping"!

It's Arthur, he says "tapez" (tah-pey), which means "hit" (your feet on the ground).
