I love this film. Does anyone know when it might be coming to DVD?

Amazon.com has the video tape. There is an article in Vanity Fair this monthe (February, 2005) about the movie and the conflict that is keeping it from DVD.

It was just announced for a May 10 release on DVD.

I just rented the DVD from Netflix. Brilliant movie.

And it's included in the box set, Controversial Classics Collection. A must have collection. Back when stories were original. With all these crappy remakes and TV-Movies, they need to look at the good stuff and think about remaking these. (although, Blackboard Jungle seems to be remade a few times, i.e. Lean on Me, Dangerous Minds, the Substitute(?), and High School High)

Hmm. I thought "Dangerous Minds" was more of a remake of "Up the Down Staircase," than "Blackboard Jungle." Anyway, I don't know if it's available on DVD in the UK since I'm an American, but Amazon.com is selling it in the US & Canada on DVD, but not in the UK. That's a shame.
