Drewe Hanley - in Star Wars: A New Hope + 633 Squadron

This is possibly mentioned elsewhere on this board but I think it's worth noting that one of the members of 633 Squadron is Drewe Hanley, who was memorable as "Red Leader" in the trench run in Star Wars IV: A New Hope. I wonder if George Lucas cast him partly due to this connection since it seems he based the sequence on the 633 Squadron attack sequence?

Didn't notice that but did notice that if you listen to the music carefully in the final run to drop the bombs there sounds a small segment that was ripped off from there for Star Wars. Even the whole run in Star Wars seems lifted from this film.
