Lapel Insignias on US Army Uniforms

The branch insignias and U.S. lapel pins were all over the place on the Army uniforms worn by the actors. It was so distracting. It was a bad goof too because a viewer might have assumed it was meant as a gaff to give Pike a clue the solders were Germans who did not know how to wear American uniforms. But the same mistake occurred in Garner’s early scenes before he was captured. It’s hard to believe that no one in wardrobe or on the set happened to notice how screwy this looked when the whole purpose of the movie hinged on convincing Pike he was at an authentic Army installation
