Good to see John Banner not as Sgt, Schultz

It was good to see John Banner playing a straight role. The only other non-Sgt. Schultz role I remember was as a customs officer in an Alfred Hitchcock episode.

As far as the character he portrayed, were there many Germans who were disenchanted with their government's actions?

36 Hours was a pretty good movie. Just saw it on TCM for the first time.

You'd probably love to see his playing a young, slim Nazi captain in "Once Upon a Honeymoon", an improbable but enjoyable rom-com set in the days leading up to WW II and starring Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers, and also Walter Slezak. I was sure it was he when I saw it decades ago, but we didn't have the internet to confirm it back then.
