Actor Terry Becker wore a hairpiece as Chief Sharkey. Here is Becker with his normal hair in an episode of The Twilight Zone:

And Chief Sharkey had a brother named Otto who was in the navy and a chief in San Diego and who kept calling all his recruits hockey pucks! 

And Kowalski had a brother who was unlucky enough to be under his command.
