I would think the real Goth Girls were the Brides fro Tod Browning's "Dracula". I could see why they changed the look because she looked too much like Morticia Addams, but I don't know why they changed the name and actress.

I believe that the look and image of Lily Munster was inspired by the 'vampire' woman from Browning's 'Mark of The Vampire' which came out in 1935.
