Why didn't they lock up Gilligan?

Every time they had a chance to get off the island, it was Gilligan who screwed it up. So when they had a chance, why didn't they lock him up so he couldn't do anything to screw it up?

Gilligan screwed up a few times, but a lot of the times it was the others who were the screw-ups. In You've Been Disconnected, Gilligan did the right thing by covering those cables, because they would have gotten ruined otherwise. He was blamed unfairly in that one.

Skipper screwed up in The Friendly Physician.

All of the others EXCEPT Gilligan screwed up in The Big Gold Strike

In President Gilligan, he wanted to build a lookout tower, which was a pretty good idea, but nobody would help him. Had the Professor suggested that, they would have been all for it.

In Smile, You're On Mars Camera, the others angrily chase Gilligan into the thing of feathers with glue stuck to them. Instead of chasing after him, they should have stayed in front of the camera. As usual, Gilligan gets the blame.

In Quick, Before It Sinks, the Professor should have told the others that he had a measuring stick in the water. Gilligan should have asked what it was, though, before moving it. Professor and Gilligan were both at fault for that.

In Physical Fatness, Gilligan is eating a bunch of stuff. Professor sits the dye next to him and tells him to keep eating. Gilligan naturally would think it's food, and eats it. As usual, ONLY Gilligan gets blamed.

So no, it wasn't always his fault.
