One possession...

If you were marooned on an island, what is the one thing you would take with you given the choice? Other than the obvious boat or helecopter etc... to get you off the island.

A cellphone?? I'd really like to call for help. lol

But since the show took place before cell phones, I I'd like to have a flare gun. One of the castaways would be sitting watch at all times looking for airplanes. If he saw one, he (or she) could shoot off a couple of flares. Hopefully someone onboard the plane would notice!

Amoxicillin/Penicillin

Good thinking! Definitely would be useful. But knowing the Professor, he could probably make it. LOL

Love your user name. Nipsey Russell was one of my favorite comedians. I always looked forward to his funny poems.

reply

Dang I forgot about the professor being able to make it! Ok, an endless supply of duct tape is my secound go to!

I want talking about being marooned on the shows island. OR when either. So you can take a cell phone. But for arguments sake. There is no reception there. Communication to the outside world defeats the question.

In order of importance (assuming fully clothed already):

1. Cutting edge (knife, machete, hatchet)

2/3. Fire starter or pot. Equally important, depending on environment. Either can be improvised primitively, assuming you have a good cutting edge to use.

4. Cordage

5. Mosquito net or tent.

6. Shovel.

7. Duct tape.

My answer to this question is always the same. A book. Specifically a survival book. Knowledge I think would be the most important thing IMO

Alternatively. Good list you have.

Such as Lost in the Wilds : A Manual of Wilderness Survival , given to Charles as a birthday gift in The Edge just prior to the ordeal. How timely was that ?

reply

Oh, I haven't seen it. But sounds like great timing for sure!

Mary Ann...

That's all I'd need to "get off"!

Nice :)

Me too.

They had a flare gun...I believe Gilligan messed it up.

reply

Yes, they kept all the bullets for the flare gun in the storage hut (which is an issue in itself as the hut was much bigger than the boat) and Gilligan fired the gun right into the storage hut which caused all the bullets to explode in one go.

A volleyball

Wilson!

Condoms. I'd hate to get some kind of STD and not receive proper medical attention
