Why did the two boys swim in their cut off jeans all the time, not in normal swimsuits?
Cutoffs were popular back then.
I was raised in Miami in the 60's and I was always in cutoffs.
It simplified things greatly if they were always ready to dive in the water, without having to "change" first.
Probably to have them come across as "regular kids".
Sandy should have skimmed in no pants!!!
Au naturel WOULD have been a more realistic depiction of southern boys going for a dip in the "swimmin' hole"...alas, but for the delicate sensibilities of 1960s television...
