Witch names (...a)

After all these years, I just realized something. All of the witch (female) names end in "a" but the warlock (male) names do not have a similarity like this. Consider:

-- Samantha, Tabitha, Endora, Serena, Clara, Esmeralda, Hagatha, Enchantra

-- Maurice, Arthur, Adam, Rollo, Juke, Waldo, Rodney, Ocky

One notable exception was "Elsbeth", played by Hermione Baddley.

In an early first season episode there was a model who Darrin chose for the "Miss Jasmine" perfume campaign. She was actually a witch, Sarah Baker, that Endora hired to test Darrin's fidelity. She was also one of the few witches whose last name is revealed.
