Reconsidering a Least Favorite Episode

I really ranted about "Only a Frog Knows How to Live" a few years ago. I think I was just annoyed at Sam for being so easily blackmailed by a frog! She could have zapped him back to a pond in a park in London or Paris, someplace where Fergus couldn't come back. I think Sam knew that all along. But she was just trying to play along and see if she could help Fergus with his dilemma.

I decided to watch this again a few days ago. It's a lot funnier than I gave it credit for. I've always been charmed by John Fiedler's performances. He turns in a great performance here as a frog who is cursed and becomes a human.
I totally missed a comment that Fergus made. He sees Darrin's picture on the table and asks Sam if that's her husband.
He is so sorry. "Oh, did someone put a curse on you too?" LOL

The client that Darrin brings home is not at all interested in Fergus's problem. He just wants a cocktail or two while Fergus tries to explain the superiority of frogs.
"Have you ever seen a frog on an analyst's couch?"
"Sober? No."

A much funnier episode than I gave it credit for.

This has ALWAYS been a super fave of mine. The lines are hilarious, and the cast is great. "The Bewitched Critic" (he
reviews eps from one of the BW websites) gave this three and half stars (out of four), which I agree.

As for reconsidering a least favorite episode, for me, it's been "Santa Comes to Visit and Stays and Stays." Yes, it is
a truly DUMB script, but it's so beautifully shot, and Sandra Gould is a hoot in this! I just tell myself that, in reality, each
gift stands for 100,000 gifts, so they can all fit in the slay. I also think the shot of the slay going up into the sky is
super effective.

Know most fans loathe this offering, but I like it a heck of a lot more than "A Vision of Sugar Plums", which, aside
from bad pacing, dull performances, and uninspired direction. crushes under the weight of its own self-importance.

I love "Only a Frog Knows How to Live"! I remember watching years ago and laughing so hard at some of the lines, especially when Fergus asks the client "Have you ever heard of a frog war?" And the look on Larry's face when he says, "Nobody's ever heard of a frog war!" So silly to think frogs of all things would be out there going to war! lol

As for my least favorite episode(s), I'd have to search through the list of episodes but I'm not incredibly fond Mary the Good Fairy or it's part II (not a fan of Imogene Coca whatsoever.) or Darrin Goes Ape...ugh!

Oh I agree. A while back gbennett and I discussed how bad the "good fairy" episode was! I think the only reason they made it was so Elizabeth Montgomery could show off her legs in that cute little fairy costume.

There's only one line that i remember from the episode. Mary tells Sam to be careful with her wings because they can be easily crushed. Darrin asks her what did she do if a man wanted to hug her (Mary)?
Mary replies, "Why do you think I'm called the GOOD Fairy?"

One episode I LOATHE (and always will) is season five's "Samantha's Power Failure." Yes, it's great to have Serena,
Endora and Uncle Arthur in the same offering, but surely they could've come up with a better script than this turkey.
The skeleton gag (with Serena dancing, yet) is sooooo childish, and the ice cream dipping is just a rip-off from
the classic "I Love Lucy" episode. For shame, William Asher (he directed both).

Yes, the banana dipping scene is an ILL rip-off. But I've always enjoyed this episode. I do feel sorry for Elizabeth Montgomery though. She was already expecting a baby and the chocolate and banana scene made her very nauseous.
