Why isn't this a live action movie yet?

Because you need a really good child actor to carry the lead and those are extremely rare. They either up his age, until some babyfaced 20 year-old plays the part, or you end up with some cute kid who can't do the action stuff.

That's only half of the problem, who would play Race Bannon? I think it would be impossible to find somebody who could do the part justice. If they had done a movie in the 80s, I think George Peppard would've been a fair candidate, but in today's movie world, we don't want Liam Neeson coming back with the salt and pepper wig wrangling Jonny and Hadji and Bandit all over.
The truth of the matter is if there ever WAS a right time to do a live action Jonny Quest movie, that ship sailed LONG ago, NO movie can be done right today, especially one from such a legacy. share
Jonny Quest is WAY too politically incorrect to make into a live action film in this time period. What would Race Bannon shoot? Not panthers, lions or leopards all protected species. Race and Dr. Quest sleeping in the same room? Oh HAIL no! Everyone would know what's going on there so do we do a love scene? Yep, the ship has definietly sailed on that one. America would have to VASTLY change from the way the culture is today to even THINK about doing one of these in the 1960's vein.

If there becomes a Live Action Film, then it would be weird. And too many Cliches and recycled bland Everything.
You would not know it is a Jonny Quest Live Action Film. You might confusing it with the The Super Man or The Bat Man.
And yes, everybody now will be very obsessed if all the characters are Homosexuals.
There are already existing in animation the several film length specials. They are not as good either.
So that is why The Live Action Film is taking forever. And when it is finally completed, it will be disappointing.
