Strangely, the cutest, most charming TV sitcom ever made!

One of the things that I can't get over the show is that although it's supposed to be macabre and creepy, there's something very cute, endearing and charming about it. Maybe it's because everyone is so damned...lovable? And are good at heart? And the actors are charismatic? And there's nothing cynical or mean-spirited about the show whatsoever?

For example, that episode where Lurch is afraid to go to the butler's ball? It's the cutest thing I ever saw, even though there's a sick joke in there where Lurch almost crushes Wednesday when they are practicing their ballet routine. Why is that both sick but adorable at the same time? Maybe because it's so sweet that a little girl like Wednesday, who's so small and precious, isn't afraid of a big, scary thing like Lurch and Lurch isn't so vain as to refuse the help of a little girl? I dunno. But I really thing that The Addams Family was one of the most charming and adorable shows ever made.

I love that gag. It's so random and tossed right at the end, blink and you miss it.

It's definitely that they're all actually nice positive people with a lust for life that makes the show work.

^What a bizarre take from this deleted user. I just watched the scene, and nothing about that joke was sick in the least.
