beginning and ending * SPOILERS

I thought it was interesting that in the beginning, when they sit in the train, Johan points to some document which is affixed to the wall, and asks Ester what it means, and she responds she doesn't know.

Then in the end, again in the train, Johan is reading Ester's letter, where she has translated some words for him.

Everything has come full circle, except now he has some answers... although of course, Ester is not there.

Any other meanings to be derived from this?
