Eating paper?

When Johan was exploring the hotel's hallways and came across the old man eating his lunch, did he start eating the paper his hotdog/sausage was wrapped in? Couldn't figure out what it was but definitely looked like paper to me...?

I thought the same at first. I had tech problems and had to refresh which caused me to watch that part again. The second time it looked more like a type of lettuce or cabbage.

That makes more sense. Looked like a muffin wrapper
