It is a shame that there are no exemples of quotes from it on this site

Just a reminder: IMDB doesn't allow quotes in any language except english. I found that out the hard way.

I, and I suppose many others, have tried to feed in some quotes from "Les tontons flingueurs", of course, in French - they were never listed.

I also tried a mixed version (french quote and raw english translation), but that too was refused.

But anyway, the lack of quotes is not important for us, Frenchs, for I guess we all know most of the dialogs by heart already.

And since IMDB is waiting for an english speaking Audiard who could translate dialogs with the same genius as their original author wrote them, I guess non-french speakers will not see example of Audiard best work for a long time - at least, here.

Why don't you post some quotes in this thread?

This film is interesting to me, but I'm not fluent in French. I'd like to see whether I understand the humor of a few lines before I watch it.

C'est curieux chez les marins ce besoin de faire des phrases
