The little girl just screams her lines!

I get it, kids can't be expected to act. But seriously, why did they cast a young girl who just screamed her lines instead of a little girl who could at least act half way decent? Her brother did just fine, so they're out there.

Her annoying bellowing was the only part of the movie that was annoying. A few excited moments or squeals of laughter, I get. But every single line being yelled was just over the top.

well, I disagree. I thought she was adorable and part of it was the way she talked.

What did you like about it? Notice how her brother just delivered his lines like a normal kid, in a normal speaking voice, like he was in a regular family situation. The little girl should have been re-cast. She kept looking off camera for her cue and she quite literally yelled every line in the same manner. Too loud and screamy. Kids yell, sure, but not everything they say, every time they say it, every single day.

I am watching it now and you are right - the little girl does scream all of her lines. She is just like that kid in The Dick Van Dyke Show or everyone in any Lucy show.

I thought the little girl was fantastic and adorable.
